Did you watch the video of the “friend of a nurse in an NYC hospital” anonymously giving us an “inside” look into what we didn’t know about COVID in New York?
I did, and I was really skeptical. Honestly, I have a hard time believing anything I can’t see with my own eyes. So, when the actual nurse herself came forward for an extensive interview complete with undercover video footage and voice recordings, it was easier to get a grip on what she was telling us.
Erin Olszewski is the nurse who came forward. She’s from Florida but went to New York to fill a need at Elmhurst Hospital.
Most of you know I’m an ICU nurse. I’ve worked in a cardiovascular ICU for 14 years. After hearing what she had to say, I still have a few questions. Because, like I said, I have a hard time with blind belief on a lot of things. But I can say with certainty there are several points that without any shred of doubt are extremely concerning. Some of her concerns span the healthcare scene in general. Some of the video could be applicable always, not just throughout COVID.
One of the biggest points for me, the thing that makes me feel my blood pressure tic up a bit, a government official making protocols for treatment his business. It’s not! It shouldn’t be. Governor Cuomo, or any other governor for that matter, should never be telling doctors they can not use a medication.
The patient doctor relationship should be between the patient and the doctor. Not insurance companies, governors, senators, lobbyists, administrators, patients and doctors. But that’s another can of worms.
Regardless of your thoughts on this video, Erin was brave to put her reputation on the line for something she believes in. If you watch, minutes 40-53 drive home the biggest points, in my opinion.
