Eat Veggies

By May 8, 2017 January 4th, 2018 No Comments

A while back a friend posed this question on Facebook: “How do you get your kids to eat their veggies.”  This post got a lot of comments, a good portion being adults expressing their extreme dislike of any and all vegetables.  Rabbit food they call it.

So…

How do you get adults to eat their veggies?

I guess that would be the better question.

Adult (adjective):  fully developed and mature (definition according to Merriam Webster Dictionary)

The thing about being an adult is we make mistakes, we are, by definition “fully developed and mature.” Physically yes, mentally not always. Sometimes we still just act like kids.

As children we are given the opportunity to develop and learn how to do the whole adult thing.  As adults we then (should) be able keep commitments, have a work ethic, be financially responsible and EAT OUR VEGGIES.

Personally, I like veggies, this isn’t a problem for me.  However, I don’t like getting up for work at 5 AM and I don’t particularly like folding laundry but I do it anyways. Why? Because I’m an adult and I know I should.  So, if I didn’t like veggies, I’d still be eating them every day for the same reason: they are good for me and I know I should. Why are we letting ourselves off the hook when it comes to taking care of our bodies?

It doesn’t need to be super hard, or gross.  Stay tuned.  I’ll be adding recipes to help you get your veggies in.  You may find one you will enjoy!
